At Shamit we view Work Education as purposive and meaningful manual work, organized as integral part of the learning process. At the Work Education Studio we develop various competencies which include knowledge, understanding skills and values through need-based life activities. We have assigned a very important place to work education in the school curriculum at all the stages.

Through meal planning activities, students learn how to plan and prepare the meals. They also come to know the functions and sources of food nutrients -proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.

:- The gardening experience provided in the school help students to observe and learn the different stages and methods of cultivation. It also allows them the freedom to care for a living thing and to take pride in it. Through gardening activities, students are involved in every step of the process from planning what to grow to helping reduce food miles with their on-foot deliveries. They learn more about soil types, seasonal plants and get an idea of how vegetables are grown. By making their own compost, we make students learn the procedure of converting all the biodegradable waste into manure.

At Shamit , we empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects . By making Eco-friendly product out of waste material, we enable our children to make the useless things more useful. Through this students develop the ability to think and organize the thinking to create something useful. Also they explore the environmental concepts and actions which are beyond the curriculum and syllabus.
