In our Life Skills Studio, we facilitate individual student to translate knowledge, attitudes and values into actual abilities - i.e. "what to do and how to do it". The school follows various practices wherein the students learn to behave in healthy ways. Life skills therefore play an important role in the promotion of mental well-being. The school involves students in a dynamic teaching and learning process. The methods used to facilitate this active involvement includes working in small groups and pairs, brainstorming, role play, games and debates. Through life skill lessons we include psychosocial competencies and interpersonal skills that help students to make informed decisions , solve problems , think critically and creatively , communicate effectively , build healthy relationships , empathize with others and cope with managing their lives in a healthy and productive manner.
The school helps students recognize themselves, their character, their strengths and weaknesses, desires and dislikes. Through varied activities students develop their communication and interpersonal relations and also become empathetic towards others. We allow students to learn more about themselves, gain self control and understand their rights and responsibilities.
We make sure that every student at Shamit develops empathy with others . This helps students to accept others, who may be different from them. Also, students improve their social interactions.
To develop student’s creativity, we make students learn the basic processes in critical thinking and develop their capacities to think in creative ways.
At Shamit, we help students to control their emotions when faced with situations as students experience different types of emotions from time to time like anger, fear, sadness , happiness or love . We try to develop the ability to cope with emotions for their own benefit and enable students to acquire it.
It is important for students to maintain friendly relationships, which is of great importance to their mental and social well-being , so we expose children to various activities which promotes development of healthy relationships . Students learn to develop their interpersonal relationship skills, wherein they value relationships with friends and family.
Through various activities, the school develops student's basic verbal and non-verbal communication skills. This facilitates students to express opinions and desired and needs and fears effectively.
At every stage we assist students to learn basic steps of decision making and generate solutions to difficult problems or dilemmas.
